A dishwasher and a washing machine on the same kitchen circuit produce two different trips. If the breaker opens, the circuit is crowded or the appliance has a short. If the residual-current device opens, the heater or the pump is leaking to the body. They are not the same part. On most models the element switches in mid-programme, while the water heats. If the machine runs at the start and drops later, that is the first place to look. The plug comes out, the lever is not forced, and the body is not touched on a wet floor.

Is it the breaker or the residual-current device

The split starts before the board cover is opened. If the lever that dropped is a narrow breaker, the circuit opened because of current: a short, or a kettle, an oven and the machine at the same time. If the lever is the residual-current device, it has a test button and the cause is a leakage in milliamps. Treating them as the same fault and fitting a larger breaker hides the leakage and leaves the body live to the hand. Bridging the device is the same mistake.

If the machine drops at the start of the programme, the motor or the door lock is the side to read. If it drops in the middle, while the water heats, the element is leaking to earth. On a dishwasher the element is under the tub and water past the seal does the same job. On a washing machine the element is in the tub, next to the water. Neither is the flat's breaker. If the circuit is sound, the part stays with the appliance service. The electrician writes the split and does not replace an element by guess.

Before the plug comes out, and after

The first move is to pull the plug. Nobody leans on the body while the machine is full of water, and if the floor is wet the mat comes away. The lever is not reset again and again. Each reset heats a leaking element once more. The board cover stays shut. A second machine is not added on a socket adaptor. If the body shocks, this page is not enough; that sign lives on the earthing page and the plug stays out.

If the device holds once the plug is out, the leakage is in the machine. If it still drops with the plug out, another socket, a box or damp is on the kitchen circuit. If the breaker holds with the plug out and drops when the machine runs, either the inrush fills the circuit or the appliance has a short. No part is named before those four results are written. The residual-current page describes the device itself.

The split with a clamp and a megohmmeter

A True-RMS clamp reads the circuit current while the machine is on the heating step. A dishwasher or washer element alone is around 2 kW. If a kettle and an oven share that circuit, the total crosses a C16 breaker's limit and it is normal for it to open. The repair then is not a larger breaker. It is giving the machine its own circuit. The section is written from the real current. 3x2.5 mm² NYM can be enough for one machine and a short run. It is not enough if an oven shares it.

A megohmmeter, with the plug out, reads both the kitchen circuit and the appliance flex. If the circuit is high and the appliance is low, a leaking element or pump is written and the house wiring is not replaced. If the circuit is low, a socket, a box or damp plaster is looked for and the machine is left alone. No device or breaker is replaced before both readings sit on the same sheet. When a change is required, a 30 mA Type A and a breaker of the same rated current are written. Schneider or Siemens, without disturbing the number of ways. The amp rating is not increased.

The price, and where this page connects

On the 2026 list a measured survey is 750–1,500 TRY. A breaker or a 30 mA residual-current device is 1,250–3,200 TRY. The band is an estimate. The appliance element, once the house wiring is found sound, sits outside this list. That part is written to the machine service and is not added to the electrical invoice. The binding figure is written on site after the split is finished. The price calculator opens the band. It does not replace the survey.

This fault is tied to the emergency line on the home page and to the Elektrikçi İstanbul page. Pendik, Kartal, Maltepe, Kadıköy and Tuzla stay on their own district pages. The combi breaker and the water-heater cable have their own pages. Sharing a kitchen does not make them the same measurement.

Three loads on one kitchen circuit

If a built-in oven, a kettle and a washing machine are fed from the same box, the heating step fills a C16 breaker. Adding the dishwasher makes the trip inevitable. The measurement is to run each appliance alone and write the current with a clamp. If the oven alone crosses the limit, the machine is not blamed. If the machine alone crosses it, the oven is not blamed. If they cross it together, the circuit is split. Fitting a larger breaker without that split leaves a 2.5 mm² conductor free to melt. 3x2.5 mm² NYM can be enough for one machine and a short run. It is not enough if an oven shares it.

Element leakage and circuit leakage are not written as one line on the same day. If the megohmmeter is low on the appliance flex and high on the kitchen circuit, the house wiring is finished and the element is written to the machine service. The customer is not offered both a device and an element as one line. If the circuit is low as well, the box and the space under the socket are dried first and the reading is repeated. If the number rises once the damp has gone, the part is not replaced and the joint is. Work does not start before that split is written. When a change is required, a 30 mA Type A and a breaker of the same rated current are written. Schneider or Siemens. The amp rating is not increased.

Resetting a machine that drops mid-programme swells the element. A leak inside the water carbonises a little more on every restart. After the third attempt the plug stays out and the visit is waited for. A door-lock fault drops at the start, not in the middle. Treating them as the same part replaces the lock for nothing. A shock from the body is a separate page: if the earth path is open, the measurement is there. The kitchen measurement is made at the machine's own socket and at its breaker in the board.

The first line on the sheet is which lever dropped. If the breaker dropped, the load is too high or there is a short. If the 30 mA device dropped, there is leakage. If both dropped, the leakage is separated first and the current is written after. If the machine alone stays under the clamp limit and the circuit insulation is high, the element does not enter the house invoice. If a shared oven circuit crosses the limit, the circuit is split and the breaker is not upsized. On the 2026 list a measured survey is 750–1,500 TRY and a breaker or 30 mA device is 1,250–3,200 TRY. The band is an estimate. The binding figure is written on site after which lever dropped and the megohmmeter result sit on the same sheet.

Heater, pump and aquastop are not the same trip

A dishwasher has three separate moments. The door lock pulls in at the start of the programme. The heater switches in mid-programme, while the water heats. The drain pump switches in at the end. On a washing machine the heater and the spin motor are separate too. A machine that drops on the spin step raises suspicion of the motor, the capacitor or a jammed drum, and that part belongs to the appliance service. If it drops only on the heating step, the leak is in the element. The aquastop valve is a separate 230 V coil. If the shut-off valve leaks to the body, the device drops before heating starts. Treating the three as one part replaces a sound element and leaves the valve in place. The split is written with the programme step and the clamp current. The tub cover is not opened on this page.

A coiled extension lead under the machine is a common cause of the trip. A coiled cable heats, the plug spring slackens, and the device and the breaker can drop on the same day. The extension comes off. The machine is plugged into its own socket with a drip loop left in. The socket stays above the counter and within reach. The body is earthed. If the earth is open, a shock is not hidden by bridging the device. 30 mA is not made into 100 mA. A bridged device lets a shock in on a wet floor. The lever is not raised with wet hands while standing in a puddle. After the third drop the plug stays out. With the plug out, the circuit is read at 500 V on a megohmmeter. The measurement is not done with the appliance plugged in, because the heater body pulls the result down and a sound circuit is blamed. If the circuit is above one megaohm, the leak is in the machine and the element is not written on the electrical invoice. If it is under, the box and the socket tail are dried first and the appliance service is not called. On the heating step the clamp sees phase and neutral apart. The two together read zero in the jaw, and that reading is not current.

A shared neutral and the decision to split the circuit

If two machines share a socket, their neutrals are shared too. When one heats and the other runs a pump, the neutral terminal heats and both plugs blacken. It looks like an appliance fault. The box is opened, the blackened neutral end is cut back to clean copper and the joint is closed with a Wago 221. If two heavy loads stay on the same 2.5 mm² circuit, the circuit is split. The washer is written as 3x2.5 mm² on a C16, and a built-in oven as 3x4 mm² on a C20 for a continuous load. If the section is not enough, the breaker is not upsized. NYM is for dry plaster. If the space behind the counter is wet, the joint is not left there. When a new run is pulled, the route is written as a door architrave.

On the 2026 list a measured survey is 750–1,500 TRY, a breaker or 30 mA Type A device is 1,250–3,200 TRY, and socket and tail renewal is 650–2,800 TRY. A new circuit is written in the 2,400–5,500 TRY band only when a split is required. The machine element sits outside this list and stays with the appliance service. The band is an estimate. The binding figure is set on site after the step that dropped and the megohmmeter result are written. Workmanship is one year. Materials are invoiced separately. The phone does not lock this band. The figure is written on that flat's own measurement sheet.

If the bathroom light and the washing machine sit under the same 30 mA device, the bathroom goes dark when the machine drops. That does not mean the device is faulty. One device is holding the whole wet room. The repair is to put the machine on its own Type A protection. The split is written when the circuit insulation is high and the appliance leak has been measured. If the circuit leaks too, the box is dried first and the device is not split. The split stays in the 1,250–3,200 TRY band as a single device when the DIN rail has room. If the rail, the neutral bar and every breaker are renewed, the job enters the flat-board band of 6,500–16,000 TRY only when that scope is written. A bridge is nowhere in that scope. The body is not touched on a wet floor and the plug is not pulled through a puddle.

If the washing-machine drain hose has run water under the socket, the water is stopped and the floor is dried first. The measurement is not done on a wet box. The box cover is opened after it has dried. If there is green oxide inside, the neutral and earth ends are cut and the joint is moved to a dry box. An oxidised end is not taped. The machine is not plugged in until the floor is dry. This order comes before any element change. If the circuit insulation comes out high, the element is written to the appliance service and does not enter the electrical invoice.

Questions on this job

The washer runs at the start and trips when it heats. What is happening?

The element is switching in. If it leaks to earth the residual-current device opens. If it fills the circuit, the breaker opens. The plug comes out. No part is replaced before which lever dropped is written down.

The dishwasher drops the residual-current device. Can I bridge it?

No. A 30 mA device is seeing a water leak. A bridge leaves the body live to the hand. The plug comes out and the circuit and the appliance are separated with a megohmmeter.

Both machines are on one socket. Is a trip normal?

If both heat at once they fill a C16 circuit and it is normal for it to open. The repair is not a larger breaker. It is giving one of them its own circuit.

The body shocks and the breaker trips. Which comes first?

The plug comes out and the body is not touched. A shock is an earth path and it has its own page. The breaker opening is the second measurement. Neither is left on a wet floor.

Do you repair the machine or the circuit?

The circuit and the appliance are separated. If the circuit is faulty, the wiring is written. If the circuit is sound and the element leaks, the part stays with the machine service and is not put on the electrical invoice.

Is a larger breaker the repair?

No. The amp rating does not go above the cable section. A residual-current device is never upsized. 30 mA is not made into 100 mA.

What is the fee on the 2026 list?

The survey is 750–1,500 TRY. A breaker or 30 mA device is 1,250–3,200 TRY. The band is an estimate. The binding figure is written on site when the split is finished.

Can a damp box drop the kitchen circuit?

Yes. If the device still trips with the plug out, the leakage is not in the machine. The box, the space under the socket and damp plaster behind the counter are searched with a megohmmeter.
