In the large family flats of Abdurrahmangazi, Battalgazi and Ahmet Yesevi, a washing machine, tumble dryer, electric heater and water heater all feed from one outlet through a multi-way extension block. Once the current through the single 2.5 mm² run approaches thirty amperes the cable insulation chars, the socket box blackens and warmth is felt through the wall. The extension block body itself begins to melt.
The fix is removing the extension block and running a separate circuit from the board for each major appliance. Continuous loads such as a dryer or heater get 3x4 mm² cable on a C20 breaker, while the washing machine uses 3x2.5 mm² on a C16. Charred cable is never patched; it is renewed all the way back to the board, and the existing cross-section is measured with a micrometer so the breaker rating matches.
In cheaply renovated flats in Fatih, Mecidiye and Mehmet Akif, copper-looking cable with an aluminium core, known as CCA, has been used. Its current carrying capacity is roughly sixty percent of solid copper at the same size and it cold-creeps in terminals over time, loosening and heating. Cable labelled 2.5 mm² frequently measures closer to 1.8 mm² in reality.
To identify it, the cable end is cut and the cross-section measured with a micrometer while the conductor colour is checked at the cut face; in CCA cable grey aluminium shows beneath the copper plating. Branches found to be CCA are not patched but renewed from board to outlet in TSE-certified solid copper from makers such as HES, Öznur or Prysmian. The drum label and batch number of the cable used are documented to the customer with photographs.

In the bathrooms of Hamidiye, Turgut Reis and Necip Fazıl, seven to nine kilowatt instant water heaters retrofitted later are connected to existing thin 1.5 or 2.5 mm² circuits. During a shower the run overheats, the terminal in the ceiling junction box melts and the residual current device trips. In unventilated internal bathrooms shower steam leaves condensation in the box, and leakage current rises over time until it trips after every shower.
An unbroken 3x4 mm² fire-retardant cable is pulled from the board to the bathroom with a C32 breaker and its own 30 mA Type A residual current device, whose trip time is verified with a dedicated tester. The heater's chassis earth is measured and the appliance is not energised where no protective earth exists. The junction box is dried and encapsulated in dielectric silicone gel, and an IP44 moisture-proof luminaire plus a run-on timer extract fan fitted.
On night calls in Sultanbeyli our first priority is not to repair the whole home but to get the critical loads running safely. On winter nights a dead boiler is a serious risk in households with children or elderly residents, and in summer a stopped refrigerator means lost food. After isolating the faulty leg at the board, the technician restores the boiler, refrigerator and lighting circuits within the first ten minutes.
In terraced apartment blocks no drill or breaker is used after 22:00; the fault is located in complete silence with a FLIR thermal imager and an inductive cable tracer. The boiler is afterwards always moved to a dedicated circuit, because a faulty socket sharing that leg will stop it at midnight. Noisy permanent work is booked for the next working day.

Every terminal inside the board is tightened with a calibrated screwdriver to the torque printed in the manufacturer catalogue, between 2.5 and 3.5 Nm. Hand tightening leaves an invisible slackness and residual contact resistance; current crossing that resistance carbonises the copper surface, resistance climbs further and a thermal runaway chain begins. As the chain advances the terminal passes 200 degrees, melts cable insulation and ignites the Bakelite enclosure.
On completion the whole board is swept with a FLIR thermal imager, not just the replaced component but every breaker, the residual current device and all busbar links. Latent hotspots above seventy degrees are located and re-torqued, which stops the customer facing the same fault again a few days later. The sweep is carried out under load, because heating is invisible in a de-energised board and the fault stays hidden. In older boards containing aluminium conductors the terminals are diarised for a further check after six months, since aluminium cold-creeps and works loose again over time.
In buildings with no protective earth, bridging the neutral pin to the earth terminal inside a socket is known on site as bootleg grounding. The moment the upstream neutral loosens or breaks, full 220 V phase potential energises the washing machine, dishwasher and oven chassis, and anyone touching the steel sink or appliance is placed directly across the mains. Such a setup can look faultless for years, then kill after a single loosened screw.
Our intervention removes every jumper one by one, drives a solid copper earth electrode, adds an earth busbar to the main board and commissions a 30 mA Type A residual current device whose trip time is verified in milliseconds with a dedicated tester. Removal of every jumper is additionally proven by measuring neutral-to-earth voltage at each socket, since one missed outlet keeps the hazard alive. Chassis continuity on metal-bodied appliances such as washing machines and dishwashers is also measured to confirm they are genuinely bonded to the protective conductor.

In a crowded family flat in Battalgazi, smoke and a burnt plastic odour were reported from a multi-way extension block on the balcony. Arriving in twenty-four minutes, our crew found the tumble dryer, washing machine and electric heater fed from a single 2.5 mm² run, the socket body entirely melted and the cable insulation charred over eighty centimetres. A True-RMS clamp meter showed 29 amperes flowing with the three appliances running together. Power was isolated and the burnt socket plus charred cable stripped back to the board. Two separate unbroken circuits were pulled to the balcony: 3x4 mm² on a C20 for the dryer and heater, and 3x2.5 mm² on a C16 for the washing machine. Both were placed behind a 30 mA Type A device and handed over after running the appliances together with current readings taken.
On this callout the root cause was recorded with photographs and a thermal image, each step of the work written onto the service report and handed over against the customer's signature. Labour carries a 1 year guarantee.
With dispatch coordinated from our Pendik hub and GPS-tracked vans patrolling the main Sultanbeyli corridors, average arrival is no fixed minutes. When the technician departs, their name, vehicle plate and a live tracking link are sent by SMS or WhatsApp.
Yes, it is dangerous. Both appliances draw continuous load and the current through a single 2.5 mm² run approaches thirty amperes; at that level the cable insulation chars and the extension block body melts. A blackened socket box, a deformed face plate or warmth felt through the wall all demand immediate attention. The correct fix is a separate circuit from the board for each appliance: 3x4 mm² on a C20 for the dryer and 3x2.5 mm² on a C16 for the washing machine.
When a seven to nine kilowatt instant water heater is connected to an existing thin 1.5 or 2.5 mm² bathroom circuit, the run overheats and the terminal in the ceiling junction box melts. The correct installation is an unbroken 3x4 mm² fire-retardant cable from the board, a C32 breaker and its own 30 mA Type A residual current device. The appliance's chassis earth is always measured; where no protective earth exists the unit is not energised, because potential on the chassis is lethal on a wet floor.
Every technician dispatched holds an official Level 4 or 5 vocational qualification as an electrical installer and presents an identity card at the door. The vehicle plate and technician name are shared by SMS or WhatsApp after the call is confirmed; on site 1000 V insulated hand tools and a lockout/tagout kit are used.
Once the work is complete and the system tested under dynamic load you may pay by cash, instant bank transfer or credit card. Every payment is receipted with an official invoice and a signed technical service report containing the measured values.
Yes. Sultanbeyli is covered on Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and at night. On the Anatolian side the on-call run starts from Pendik. Arrival depends on traffic and the queue; no minute is promised. A night or holiday difference is stated on the phone before anyone sets off.

A loose screw connection has carbonised the terminal. Take that outlet out of service at once; the point is found with a thermal camera without opening the wall.

Fix and price
Branches are separated one by one at the board and the device reset; if it holds the fault is in the wiring, if not it is the device. The faulty leg is confirmed with a megohmmeter.

Fix and price
If the building is dark, the record belongs to 186. If only the flat is dark, the fault is after the meter: one phase is missing or the neutral has broken. On neutral loss one phase climbs above 250 volts and another falls to 180.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Inrush exceeds the existing circuit. The fix is not a bigger breaker but a dedicated run from the board with a motor characteristic device.

Fix and price
The chandelier is fixed to the existing box and a load-rated hook. If the hook is not anchored in the slab, it is not hung. Live, neutral and earth are confirmed separately; the body is never put on phase.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
There is no protective earth and the neutral is bridged to the earth terminal in the socket. This is a lethal risk; stop using the appliance immediately.

Whatever we are called out for, before leaving we measure your board at five points and leave the result in writing. It is the cheapest way to see a developing fault before it stops anything.
All breaker and terminal temperatures under load with a FLIR thermal imager; every point above seventy degrees is recorded.
The 30 mA residual current device trip time measured in milliseconds with a dedicated tester.
Voltage between neutral and earth; more than a few volts indicates a loose neutral or a bootleg ground.
Earth resistance read with a digital earth tester and assessed against the 2 Ohm target.
Breaker ratings against conductor size; anything above a C16 on a 1.5 mm² run leaves the cable unprotected.
Fully stocked mobile vans: every vehicle carries Schneider and Siemens breakers, 30 mA Type A devices, surge arresters, solid copper cable drums and junction box sets, so most jobs finish on the same visit.
Service covers the neighborhoods of Istanbul's 39 districts. Not the whole of Turkey. A survey is not a binding quote.
