During the 1999 strengthening the column was opened, the conductors were twisted end to end, and they were closed with cloth tape or thin insulating tape. The tape has dried, the copper has blackened, and when load comes on the joint heats and a burning smell leaves the cover. The first job is not to fit a thick wire or a larger fuse. The flat end is made dead, the cover is opened, and a joint that can be reached is read under load with a True-RMS clamp. The carbonised NYA tail is cut back and sound copper is taken into a terminal. If the joint stayed inside the column jacket, that concrete is not chased. An unreached joint is not written as sound. With the manager a new NYM route, NYY where it is needed, is chosen in the stair, and the flat is fed from that route. The old twist is not left as a spare for the new line. Two lines do not feed the flat at once. The old tail is removed. If it is not, the old joint keeps heating beside the new line at night.

In the same repair the section was mixed. 2.5 mm² NYA was jointed to a 1.5 mm² tail, and the joint disappeared inside the board. The thin side heats, the thick side stays cold, and the caller looks at the thick cable and thinks the line is sound. The section is read from the thinnest piece. Lighting in 1.5 mm² is not taken above 16 amperes. A socket run in 2.5 mm² is not left carrying a hob's continuous current and an air conditioner together. An induction hob or a portable hob in these flats is usually fed from a socket, because a 1990s kitchen has no separate hob circuit. If the hob, the washer and the air conditioner are on the same 16 ampere way, the way drops in the evening. The hob is moved to its own way and the air conditioner to its own way. If the section is short, the NYM is renewed, and the breaker is not enlarged on paper. Around the university a second air conditioner fitted in a student flat was added to the phase the repair crew could reach that day. If three phases exist at the meter and the flat was piled on one phase, the phases are separated. If the meter is single-phase, a third phase is not invented.

Around the campus the night load is a kettle, a multi-way socket, a computer adapter and a second air conditioner. Adapters and an inverter unit produce triplen harmonics. If the column neutral is already thin and jointed, neutral current passes the phase current and one room goes bright while the next goes dim. This is not the same sentence as the LED neutral of a new residence. Here the neutral was extended in a different section during the week of the strengthening. A True-RMS clamp writes the neutral and each phase separately. An average clamp shows the joint cold. The neutral screw is tightened, the thin piece is changed, and brightness is not hidden by enlarging a phase breaker. Which flat was piled on which phase enters the note to the manager. The note is written so the next flat does not make the same joint smell the following night.

The device fitted in the hurried repair is Type AC in most flats, or it is missing. An inverter air conditioner that arrived later produces pulsating direct residual current. A Type AC unit is late on that residual, and the chassis shocks. If there is a shock, the plug comes out, the circuit is separated, and if the insulation is low the conductor is renewed first. A 30 mA Type A residual-current device is fitted onto a sound branch. A bridged device is removed. A bridge leaves a night shock open in a student flat. A circuit under one megaohm is not connected behind the new device, because the device trips again and the bridge is asked back. If the intercom or the old bell transformer is warm inside the board, the bell circuit leaves the socket. A camera adapter is tied neither to the bell pair nor to the kitchen socket. The cameras have their own breaker. An adapter fault then does not heat the column joint and does not drop the door speech.

On the Ambarlı edge a balcony and ground-floor socket greens with sea humidity. The terminal rots, the cover goes warm, and the 30 mA device drops after rain. That drop is not the smell of a column joint inland in Gümüşpala or Firuzköy. On the shore the circuit is left dead, the green tail is cut back, and the insulation is read with a megohmmeter. A 30 mA Type A device goes back onto a sound circuit. The rotten piece is changed, and the plaster of the whole elevation is not broken for this socket. NYM stays in the dry room, and the rotten piece of the shore line is written on its own. Inland, the smell comes from the taped joint and humidity is secondary. The two faults are not made one item on the same bill. The shore socket and the column joint are separate lines. The Ambarlı generation yard, the pier and the plant cubicle are none of these lines. Those doors are not opened, and a residence board is not put in place of that yard.

If a camera on the shore is plugged into the balcony socket, the recording goes quiet in the rain and the flat's device drops as well. The camera is moved to its own breaker, and the balcony socket and the intercom are not tied to that breaker. The intercom or the old bell is on its own thin pair. In a student flat a camera adapter plugged into a multi-way socket piles night load onto the column joint. The adapter is taken out of there. The ends are passed through a cable tester. A joint left because the picture came up once goes dark in the salt air. The 1999 jacket is not drilled for the cable. The existing stair trunk or halogen-free surface trunking is used. The trunk does not carry a camera through the concrete just because the joint is inside the jacket.

If the BEDAŞ seal is intact and the meter body is cold while the smell comes from the flat cover, the joint and the flat board are measured. If the seal is already broken, or the meter side is warm, a company report is opened. We do not open the seal and we do not repair a seal. The column belongs to the building. The smell of one flat's joint makes the neighbour's joint in the same shaft suspect as well. The note left with the manager writes the floor, the phase, the change of section and whether the joint was reached. The sentence not reached is not erased from the paper. If three phases do not exist at the meter, three phases are not drawn into the flat. If a single-phase column is swollen with student load, the line is renewed or the load is separated, and a breaker is not arranged as if a phase that does not exist were there. If there is a generator or an estate board, that board needs an approval apart from the flat joint. The common screw is not undone by the owner alone.

Avcılar is entered by appointment. A burning smell from the joint, arcing and a shock are brought forward the same day. A minute is not written for the coastal road or the D100. Before setting off, the technician asks whether the smell comes from a shore socket or from a column joint. The two jobs are not put in the same bag. The 2026 band is labour, it excludes materials, and it changes with the joint: finding 750-1,500 TL, a breaker or a 30 mA Type A device 1,250-3,200 TL, a socket 650-2,800 TL, a dedicated air-conditioning or hob circuit 2,400-5,500 TL, a flat board 6,500-16,000 TL. Cutting and tightening at a joint that can be reached sit inside finding. Stair NYM, NYY and the device body sit outside. The survey is deducted if the repair is accepted. The binding amount is given after it is written whether the joint was reached or not, and before work starts. Workmanship is one year. The year is for the new line we pulled and the terminal we tightened. A twist left inside the jacket, unreached, is not part of this year. Neither is the sealed meter, nor the plant yard.
