In the summer houses of Şile centre, Ağva and Sahilköy the main board often sits on a garden wall or external elevation, directly exposed to Black Sea storms. When rain and salt wind enter a board whose seal has failed, oxide forms on the busbar face, breaker terminals rust and the residual current device trips in every storm. The earth electrode is frequently too shallow in the sandy ground.
The board is upgraded to a gasketed IP65 body with an anti-condensation heater inside, and the cable glands tightened with renewed seals. Earth resistance is measured with a digital earth tester; where the 2 Ohm target is missed in sandy ground an additional solid copper rod is driven or bentonite backfill applied. A Type 1 arrester is fitted at the building intake and a Type 2 in the board.
In the timber-roofed summer buildings of Kumbaba, Çavuş and Doğancılı, lighting junction boxes are mounted directly onto timber rafters. In houses left closed through winter the roof takes on damp, the terminal inside the box oxidises and contact resistance rises. Current crossing that resistance carbonises the timber, and in a timber structure such an arc turns into fire far faster than in concrete.
At the start of the season the roof junction boxes are opened one by one, oxidised terminals renewed and connections closed with Wago 221 lever terminals. The box is separated from the timber by an insulating base plate and Low-Smoke Zero-Halogen fire-resistant cable used on the roof circuit. An arc fault detection device is added to the board and the lighting branch measured with a megohmmeter with its insulation resistance documented.

On the garden plots of Yeşilvadi, Hacıllı and Teke, water is often supplied by a well pump and booster set. When these motors are protected with a domestic Type B characteristic breaker, inrush trips it needlessly; raise the rating and the motor winding is left unprotected and burns out. Because the pump circuit runs underground, sheath damage is also a frequent source of leakage.
A motor protection breaker is fitted on the pump circuit with its thermal setting calibrated to the motor nameplate current, and a level relay added to guard against dry running. Underground grade NYY cable is used along the buried route, and where leakage exists a fault locator narrows the point so only that area is excavated. The pump circuit is placed behind its own 30 mA device, separating it from the rest of the house.
Şile and Ağva are the furthest service area on the Anatolian side from our Pendik operations hub; night arrival takes forty-five to sixty minutes and that window is given honestly to the customer. No undeliverable time is promised. When the technician departs, their name, vehicle plate and a live tracking link are shared, and if winter conditions affect the coast road the time is updated and re-communicated.
Because of the distance the van carries comprehensive stock in one trip: spare breaker ratings, a 30 mA Type A device, arresters, a drum of fire-retardant cable, IP65 junction boxes and terminal sets, so the job is finished the same night without a second round trip. For summer houses left closed through winter a pre-season inspection is recommended, measuring insulation resistance, earth resistance and all terminal temperatures, with a report left on site.

Our service vans stock only TSE and VDE certified Schneider Acti9, Siemens 5SY, ABB and Legrand miniature breakers. Copper-clad aluminium conductors carry roughly sixty percent higher resistance than solid copper and glow red inside the conduit under oven, water heater or air-conditioning loads, so they are never installed. Cross-sections are calculated from appliance nameplate power, run length and permitted voltage drop. Oven and hob circuits start at 3x4 mm², air-conditioning and water heater circuits at 3x2.5 mm², stepping up one size as the run lengthens.
Every junction is closed with fire-retardant Wago 221 lever terminals; taped or twisted splices are refused because they loosen over time and generate contact resistance heating. On completion the circuit is measured under dynamic load, the residual current device trip time is verified with a dedicated tester, and a signed service report plus the official 1 year workmanship guarantee is handed over.
Taping the handle of a repeatedly tripping breaker or winding heavy copper wire onto a ceramic fuse completely disables the circuit's thermal and magnetic protection. Overcurrent is no longer interrupted, the conductor glows inside its conduit and an arcing fire starts behind the plaster. A tripping device always signals a genuine overload or insulation fault; the lever never falls on its own.
The correct remedy is finding the fault, not upsizing the device: line current is measured with a True-RMS clamp meter, insulation resistance with a megohmmeter, the overloaded branch is split onto a dedicated circuit and the protective device is rated to match the conductor cross-section. If cross-section and breaker rating do not match, the protection guards the appliance rather than the cable; fitting anything above a C16 on a 1.5 mm² run or above a C20 on 2.5 mm² leaves the cable unprotected. For that reason the existing conductor size is physically measured on every visit and the breaker rating set from that measurement.

At a summer house in Ağva the whole property lost power after a Black Sea storm and the residual current device would not hold at all. Arriving in fifty-two minutes, our crew found the seal on the garden wall outdoor board had failed over the years, with standing water in the base of the enclosure. Disconnecting the branches and measuring each with a 500 V megohmmeter, the garden lighting leg read 0.1 Megaohm. The board and junction boxes were dried with dielectric drying and no power restored until insulation resistance exceeded 1 Megaohm. The board was upgraded to a gasketed IP65 body with an anti-condensation heater inside and the glands tightened with renewed seals. Earth resistance measured 11 Ohm on a digital earth tester, so an additional solid copper rod was driven bringing it to 2.1 Ohm, and a Type 2 arrester fitted in the board.
The brand and model of switchgear fitted, all measured values and the labour charge were written onto a signed service report and handed to the customer. Parts and labour are covered by the official 1 year guarantee.
With dispatch coordinated from our Pendik hub and GPS-tracked vans patrolling the main Şile corridors, average arrival is no fixed minutes. When the technician departs, their name, vehicle plate and a live tracking link are sent by SMS or WhatsApp.
Yes, we cover the whole district 24/7 including Şile centre, Ağva, Kumbaba and Sahilköy. From our Pendik operations hub night arrival is honestly forty-five to sixty minutes; this is the furthest service area on the Anatolian side. We do not promise an undeliverable time. When the technician departs, their name, vehicle plate and a live tracking link are shared, and the van carries comprehensive stock for the distance so the job can be finished the same night.
Yes, it is strongly recommended. In a property left closed through winter the roof and walls take on damp, terminals inside junction boxes oxidise and contact resistance rises; on a timber roof that creates a fire risk. At the start of the season insulation resistance is measured with a megohmmeter, earth resistance with a digital earth tester and all terminal temperatures with a thermal camera under load. Oxidised terminals are renewed, the outdoor board seal checked and the measured values left as a written report.
During standard daytime hours digital fault diagnosis and measurement labour averages 500 to 800 TL. For on-call jobs between 20:00 and 08:00 an approximate forty percent night surcharge covers standby crew and vehicle costs; that surcharge is confirmed clearly on the phone before the van departs and is never altered afterwards.
Yes. On arrival the fault is proven by measurement, then the brand and model price of each replacement part plus the net labour total are presented separately in writing. Not a single screw is turned without approval and no surprise line items appear at the end.
Yes. Şile is covered on Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and at night. On the Anatolian side the on-call run starts from Pendik. Arrival depends on traffic and the queue; no minute is promised. A night or holiday difference is stated on the phone before anyone sets off.

A loose screw connection has carbonised the terminal. Take that outlet out of service at once; the point is found with a thermal camera without opening the wall.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Branches are separated one by one at the board and the device reset; if it holds the fault is in the wiring, if not it is the device. The faulty leg is confirmed with a megohmmeter.

Fix and price
If the building is dark, the record belongs to 186. If only the flat is dark, the fault is after the meter: one phase is missing or the neutral has broken. On neutral loss one phase climbs above 250 volts and another falls to 180.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Inrush exceeds the existing circuit. The fix is not a bigger breaker but a dedicated run from the board with a motor characteristic device.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
The chandelier is fixed to the existing box and a load-rated hook. If the hook is not anchored in the slab, it is not hung. Live, neutral and earth are confirmed separately; the body is never put on phase.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
There is no protective earth and the neutral is bridged to the earth terminal in the socket. This is a lethal risk; stop using the appliance immediately.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.

Whatever we are called out for, before leaving we measure your board at five points and leave the result in writing. It is the cheapest way to see a developing fault before it stops anything.
All breaker and terminal temperatures under load with a FLIR thermal imager; every point above seventy degrees is recorded.
The 30 mA residual current device trip time measured in milliseconds with a dedicated tester.
Voltage between neutral and earth; more than a few volts indicates a loose neutral or a bootleg ground.
Earth resistance read with a digital earth tester and assessed against the 2 Ohm target.
Breaker ratings against conductor size; anything above a C16 on a 1.5 mm² run leaves the cable unprotected.
Fully stocked mobile vans: every vehicle carries Schneider and Siemens breakers, 30 mA Type A devices, surge arresters, solid copper cable drums and junction box sets, so most jobs finish on the same visit.
Service covers the neighborhoods of Istanbul's 39 districts. Not the whole of Turkey. A survey is not a binding quote.
