In the newer complexes of Kurtköy and Yenişehir each flat runs three or four inverter air conditioners, an induction hob and often an electric vehicle charger at the same time. On summer evenings those loads cluster onto one phase, the neutral terminal in the flat board climbs to around one hundred and sixty degrees and the main breaker trips thermally. Our technician reads all three phase currents and the neutral separately with a Fluke True-RMS clamp meter, redistributes loads across the busbar and pulls a dedicated circuit from the board to the outdoor condenser.
High frequency harmonics injected by inverter air conditioners and induction hobs cause standard Type AC residual current devices to trip for no apparent reason. In these flats the device is replaced with a Type A or a harmonic-immune Type F unit, and the air-conditioning circuit is protected by a C20 or C25 motor characteristic breaker.
In the dense family apartment blocks of Kaynarca and Batı, kitchen renovations leave a built-in oven, microwave and dishwasher all fed from a single old 2.5 mm² branch. When the three run together at dinner time, a crackling noise comes from the socket back-box behind the counter and a sharp plastic odour spreads. That odour is a definite sign the outlet has begun to melt and the socket must be taken out of service immediately.
The repair cuts back the blackened conductor ends, replaces the back-box and pulls an unbroken 3x2.5 mm² HES solid copper cable from the board to the counter behind the skirting. A separate C16 breaker for the oven and another for the dishwasher permanently end the practice of loading three appliances onto one leg. No wall is chipped; the existing trunking and skirting route is used.

In Esenyalı and Çamçeşme extra storeys were added to existing buildings over the years, with the new flats wired straight into the old undersized main service head at ground level. Because that head was never dimensioned for the current number of flats, the main neutral busbar melts under evening load, voltage swings on the upper floors and television and boiler control boards fail.
Our crew measures the load currents inside the service head with a True-RMS clamp meter, renews the melted neutral terminals with fire-rated ceramic modular blocks and opens a new distribution point on the busbar for the overloaded floors. Where the cross-section is genuinely insufficient, a written riser replacement proposal backed by the measurement report is submitted to the building management.
In the older housing stock of Velibaba and Dumlupınar a ceramic screw-in fuse board still sits in the hall cupboard. These boards contain no residual current device at all, so protection against electric shock is zero; the fuse melts and welds into its base under overload, fails to clear a short circuit and the board body carbonises.
The old board is removed entirely and a flame-retardant modular DIN-rail enclosure installed. Each room receives an independent Type C breaker, the kitchen and bathroom get dedicated circuits, and a 30 mA Type A residual current device plus a Type 2 surge arrester are fitted at the incoming side; every terminal is torqued to specification.

Across Pendik, seven to nine kilowatt instant water heaters retrofitted into bathrooms are connected to existing thin 1.5 or 2.5 mm² circuits. During a shower the run overheats, the terminal in the ceiling junction box melts and the residual current device trips. On a night callout the technician uses no drill or breaker; the fault is located in complete silence with a FLIR thermal imager and an inductive cable tracer.
The faulty branch is isolated so the rest of the home is re-energised within the first ten minutes, restoring refrigeration and lighting. If pulling the unbroken 3x4 mm² cable from board to bathroom would require noisy work, a temporary safe line in fire-retardant trunking is installed and the permanent job scheduled for the next working day.
In the lathe, milling and sheet metal workshops of Pendik Sanayi Mahallesi and the Şeyhli side, inductive motor loads generate reactive power penalties. In the compensation panel the step contactor tips weld together under heavy inrush, the power capacitor bulges and a burning odour fills the enclosure. Our crew secures the supply with a lockout/tagout kit, discharges the capacitor and fits a dedicated capacitor-switching contactor with discharge resistors.
The thermal setting of the motor protection breaker is recalibrated to the motor nameplate current and a phase sequence plus undervoltage relay added. On circuits with a variable frequency drive, screened NYY cable is used and no megohmmeter test is applied to the drive output; readings are taken on the incoming side with the drive isolated.

Our service vans stock only TSE and VDE certified Schneider Acti9, Siemens 5SY, ABB and Legrand miniature breakers. Copper-clad aluminium conductors carry roughly sixty percent higher resistance than solid copper and glow red inside the conduit under oven, water heater or air-conditioning loads, so they are never installed. Cross-sections are calculated from appliance nameplate power, run length and permitted voltage drop. Oven and hob circuits start at 3x4 mm², air-conditioning and water heater circuits at 3x2.5 mm², stepping up one size as the run lengthens.
Every junction is closed with fire-retardant Wago 221 lever terminals; taped or twisted splices are refused because they loosen over time and generate contact resistance heating. On completion the circuit is measured under dynamic load, the residual current device trip time is verified with a dedicated tester, and a signed service report plus the official 1 year workmanship guarantee is handed over.
Taping the handle of a repeatedly tripping breaker or winding heavy copper wire onto a ceramic fuse completely disables the circuit's thermal and magnetic protection. Overcurrent is no longer interrupted, the conductor glows inside its conduit and an arcing fire starts behind the plaster. A tripping device always signals a genuine overload or insulation fault; the lever never falls on its own.
The correct remedy is finding the fault, not upsizing the device: line current is measured with a True-RMS clamp meter, insulation resistance with a megohmmeter, the overloaded branch is split onto a dedicated circuit and the protective device is rated to match the conductor cross-section. If cross-section and breaker rating do not match, the protection guards the appliance rather than the cable; fitting anything above a C16 on a 1.5 mm² run or above a C20 on 2.5 mm² leaves the cable unprotected. For that reason the existing conductor size is physically measured on every visit and the breaker rating set from that measurement.

At 23:45 in a complex in Kurtköy Yenişehir, crackling and a heavy burnt-plastic odour from the flat intake board prompted the customer to call our emergency line. Our crew left the Pendik hub and reached the address in twenty minutes. A FLIR thermal inspection showed the incoming terminal of the 40 A main breaker had loosened, reached one hundred and ninety-five degrees and melted the copper busbar. Power was isolated at the building intake, the burnt breaker removed, carbon residue cleaned from the bar face with dielectric solvent and a Schneider Acti9 C40 10kA main device fitted. The flat was safely re-energised within thirty-five minutes.
The brand and model of switchgear fitted, all measured values and the labour charge were written onto a signed service report and handed to the customer. Parts and labour are covered by the official 1 year guarantee.
In Kaynarca, plugging in a seven kilowatt instant water heater produced smoke from the bathroom ceiling junction box and cut all power to the flat. Reaching the address in eighteen minutes, our on-call technician found the thin 1.5 mm² cable charred by overcurrent and no protective earth present in the flat. The melted shorted run was removed completely, an unbroken 3x4 mm² HES fire-retardant cable pulled from the board to the bathroom, and a C32 breaker with a Schneider 30 mA Type A residual current device installed. Trip time was measured with a dedicated tester at twenty-eight milliseconds and reported to the customer.
After completion the residual current device trip time was measured with an external tester, the board swept thermally, and the system handed over running under dynamic load in front of the customer.
With dispatch coordinated from our Pendik hub and GPS-tracked vans patrolling the main Pendik corridors, average arrival is no fixed minutes. When the technician departs, their name, vehicle plate and a live tracking link are sent by SMS or WhatsApp.
First the inrush current is measured with a clamp meter. In most flats the air conditioners hang off a socket circuit and peak at thirty-five to forty amperes on start-up. The fix is not a larger breaker but a dedicated 3x2.5 or 3x4 mm² run from the board to the outdoor unit protected by a C20 or C25 motor characteristic device. Where the residual current device trips for no reason, a harmonic-immune Type F unit is fitted.
This pattern usually comes from a shared neutral or sub-meter mix-up in buildings with added storeys. When the floors' neutral returns are pressed onto the same terminal, one flat's load flows through another flat's neutral. Testing reads a voltage between neutral and earth. The fix is separating each floor's neutral onto an independent busbar, renewing melted terminals and giving the flat board its own residual current device.
Yes. For workshops and small plants we run periodic maintenance covering thermal imaging of the board, compensation step measurement, thermal recalibration of motor protection breakers, contactor tip inspection and earth resistance testing. Each visit ends with a written report listing measured values and any components due for replacement.
During standard daytime hours digital fault diagnosis and measurement labour averages 500 to 800 TL. For on-call jobs between 20:00 and 08:00 an approximate forty percent night surcharge covers standby crew and vehicle costs; that surcharge is confirmed clearly on the phone before the van departs and is never altered afterwards.
Yes. On arrival the fault is proven by measurement, then the brand and model price of each replacement part plus the net labour total are presented separately in writing. Not a single screw is turned without approval and no surprise line items appear at the end.
Yes. Pendik is covered on Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and at night. On the Anatolian side the on-call run starts from Pendik. Arrival depends on traffic and the queue; no minute is promised. A night or holiday difference is stated on the phone before anyone sets off.

A loose screw connection has carbonised the terminal. Take that outlet out of service at once; the point is found with a thermal camera without opening the wall.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Branches are separated one by one at the board and the device reset; if it holds the fault is in the wiring, if not it is the device. The faulty leg is confirmed with a megohmmeter.

Fix and price
If the building is dark, the record belongs to 186. If only the flat is dark, the fault is after the meter: one phase is missing or the neutral has broken. On neutral loss one phase climbs above 250 volts and another falls to 180.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Inrush exceeds the existing circuit. The fix is not a bigger breaker but a dedicated run from the board with a motor characteristic device.

Fix and price
The chandelier is fixed to the existing box and a load-rated hook. If the hook is not anchored in the slab, it is not hung. Live, neutral and earth are confirmed separately; the body is never put on phase.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
There is no protective earth and the neutral is bridged to the earth terminal in the socket. This is a lethal risk; stop using the appliance immediately.

Whatever we are called out for, before leaving we measure your board at five points and leave the result in writing. It is the cheapest way to see a developing fault before it stops anything.
All breaker and terminal temperatures under load with a FLIR thermal imager; every point above seventy degrees is recorded.
The 30 mA residual current device trip time measured in milliseconds with a dedicated tester.
Voltage between neutral and earth; more than a few volts indicates a loose neutral or a bootleg ground.
Earth resistance read with a digital earth tester and assessed against the 2 Ohm target.
Breaker ratings against conductor size; anything above a C16 on a 1.5 mm² run leaves the cable unprotected.
Fully stocked mobile vans: every vehicle carries Schneider and Siemens breakers, 30 mA Type A devices, surge arresters, solid copper cable drums and junction box sets, so most jobs finish on the same visit.
Service covers the neighborhoods of Istanbul's 39 districts. Not the whole of Turkey. A survey is not a binding quote.
