Someone calling an electrician in Gaziosmanpaşa is describing a narrow landing in Karayolları, not a show flat. On the same stair one flat has been renewed and the next still carries a 1980 installation. The renewed board looks tidy. In the unfinished flat the socket circuit is tired: the multi-plug is warm, the cover edge has yellowed, and in winter an electric heater sits on the same way. The confusing end is the kitchen. The kettle and the toaster are fed from the lighting circuit. 1.5 mm² NYA takes an 8-10 amp heater on top of a 10 amp lighting breaker. With the hall lamp on, the breaker trips when the heater starts. If the breaker was raised to 16 amps so it would stop tripping, the conductor heats inside the box. In Pazariçi, Sarıgöl, Mevlana, Yenimahalle, Yıldıztabya, Merkez and Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa the work is after the meter. The seal on the meter cover belongs to BEDAŞ and it stays. No minute is set for a Gaziosmanpaşa call, and no night-arrival notice is given. The call is written in the appointment book. A burning smell or a shock is moved to the front of the same day. The labour band is written after measurement, and the guarantee is one year.

In an old Gaziosmanpaşa kitchen the socket was tapped from the nearest lighting box and the run was kept short. Above the door the box holds red and black NYA and no earth core. The electrician of that decade brought one socket up to the counter and used the lighting breaker. The cable stays 1.5 mm². A kettle draws 1800-2000 watts, about 8-9 amperes. If the toaster is switched on at the same time the lighting breaker passes 10 amperes. In Karayolları tea is made on every floor in the early evening, the riser is already full, and the drop inside the flat is added on top. The first look is not a new screw in the cover. The lighting breaker is opened, the kitchen box is opened, and the conductor that feeds the socket tail is written down. With the heater running, a True-RMS clamp goes on the lighting conductor. If the reading nears 10 amperes the kitchen does not stay on that way. Turning the breaker into a 16 amp unit is not a repair. 1.5 mm² PVC at a continuous 16 amperes heats the box screw, the insulation hardens, and the copper blackens.
The lasting job is to drop a separate circuit to the kitchen from the board. The conductor is 2.5 mm² NYM, its protection is a 16 amp type B breaker, and its neutral is not joined to the lighting neutral inside the box. Because the bath and the counter have water, the 30 mA Type A residual-current device at the board intake sees this way as well. If there is no device, it goes in before the kitchen circuit is opened. Plaster is not chased around three neighbours' walls. A Karayolları stair is narrow. Halogen-free trunking on the flat's own wall is enough. The old lighting stays on 1.5 mm² and 10 amperes, and the lamp load stays there. At the end the proof is written: all lamps on, kettle and toaster on, the lighting breaker holding, the kitchen breaker holding, the device test button dropping. A device that does not drop is not counted as fitted. The same box arrangement turns up often in Yıldıztabya and Merkez, because the contractor of those years closed the kitchen through the lighting box.
In Sarıgöl and Pazariçi an owner renews his own flat and the neighbour leaves the old board. The new board sits on a DIN rail in a Siemens or Schneider row, and the cover closes cleanly, as in the photograph. That appearance does not repair the riser terminal. The riser belongs to the building. If the renewed flat took its phase to the new breaker and left the neutral on the old bar, the renewed flat's lamp shortens when the neighbour turns on an electric heater. The reading is written at both flat intakes under load: phase-to-neutral, phase-to-earth, neutral-to-earth. Two rows, without the heater and with it, are enough. If the difference grows, the loose point is the riser screw on the landing, not the flat cover. That screw is not limited to the flat owner. A paper is left with the manager: floor, phase, amperes read with the clamp. The side before the seal is BEDAŞ's line. We do not open the seal. If the seal is already broken, or the meter body is hot, the report goes to the distribution company and the board after the meter stays with us.
A tired socket circuit is a separate job. In Mevlana and Yenimahalle the NYA tail behind a multi-plug is often carbonised. A new cover hides the carbon. The circuit is made dead, the tail is cut back, and if the remaining copper is 2.5 mm² and the insulation has not crumbled, the same way is tightened. If the insulation dusts in the fingers, that room is pulled in new NYM inside halogen-free trunking. An electric heater that sits near a continuous 16 amperes is not left on one socket. It wants its own way beside the board and a fitting section. The 2026 bands are labour excluding materials: fault finding 750-1,500 TL, a breaker or residual-current device 1,250-3,200 TL, a socket or light fitting 650-2,800 TL, an air-conditioning circuit 2,400-5,500 TL, a flat board 6,500-16,000 TL. The survey comes off the labour if the repair is accepted. The binding figure is written after measurement and before work starts. Workmanship is guaranteed for one year. A minute is not set for a narrow street.

In a Karayolları winter every flat plugs a heater into a socket. Even if the socket circuit is 2.5 mm², the riser neutral is thin and its screw was left at one turn years ago. As neutral resistance rises, the flat voltage moves with the neighbour's load. One floor goes bright, another goes dim. The caller blames his own socket. Three readings stay on the paper. Close to an open neutral, phase-to-neutral moves clearly away from 230 volts when the neighbour's heater starts: one flat rises, the other falls. The fridge and television plugs come out. The shared neutral screw is chosen with the manager, because the line is the building's property. Balance is not made by raising the ampere rating. If the conductor is 1.5 mm² the lighting does not go above 10 amperes. If the section is short, the cable changes, not the breaker number. In Barbaros Hayrettin Paşa, if the renewed flat's new neutral bar was joined to the old flat's neutral inside a box, that joint comes apart. Two neutrals meet only at the board, and only after they are measured.
If the whole street and the next building are dark and the meter is cold, the report is written to BEDAŞ. If one flat has a live kitchen and a dead living room, the thing being looked for is one pole of that flat, not a kitchen hidden on the lighting way. A pole whose handle is up and whose output is dead is common in a body that has stayed warm for years. If there is a shock, the plug comes out. Bonding the chassis to a water pipe does not count as an earth. If there is no 30 mA Type A device, the board moves forward and the device is not bridged. A Gaziosmanpaşa call is written to an appointment time. A burning smell or a shock is moved forward the same day. A minute figure is not quoted for a narrow street or a crowded landing. Before setting off, the technician says on the phone where the job sits in the band after the measurement is understood. If an air conditioner is wanted on its own circuit, the labour sits in the 2,400-5,500 TL band, and the conditioner is not piled onto the existing 1.5 mm² lighting. One year of workmanship sits on the written items.
With the heater running, the lighting conductor is read with a clamp. If the load nears 10 amperes the kitchen is taken from the board on its own 16 amp way in 2.5 mm² NYM. The old 1.5 mm² cable is not raised to 16 amperes. The neutral is not joined to the lighting neutral inside the box. A wet counter stays behind a 30 mA Type A device.
A multi-plug and an electric heater loosen the screw on a tired 2.5 mm² tail. A loose screw heats and the cover yellows. A new cover does not hide carbon. The tail is cut back and the load is written with a clamp. If the section is short, that room is pulled in new NYM. A heater near a continuous 16 amperes wants its own way.
A new board does not repair the riser neutral. If the neutral is loose on the old bar, the neighbour's heater moves the voltage. A reading with and without the heater is written at both intakes. The screw is the building's property, and a note of floor and amperes is left with the manager. The meter seal is not opened.
The sealed meter and the breaker ahead of it are a BEDAŞ report. We do not open the seal. A loose riser after the meter, the flat board, the kitchen circuit and the sockets are our measurement. If the meter body is hot and the seal is sound, the company is called and the flat work is written separately.
The band is labour, excluding materials. Finding a fault is 750-1,500 TL, a device or breaker 1,250-3,200 TL, a socket 650-2,800 TL, an air-conditioning circuit 2,400-5,500 TL, a board 6,500-16,000 TL. The firm figure is written after measurement. A promised minute is not inside that figure. Workmanship is one year.
Gaziosmanpaşa on the European side is worked by appointment. A burning smell, arcing or a shock is moved ahead the same day; no minute is promised, because a time that cannot be held in bridge traffic helps nobody. A night or holiday difference is stated on the phone before departure.

A loose screw connection has carbonised the terminal. Take that outlet out of service at once; the point is found with a thermal camera without opening the wall.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Branches are separated one by one at the board and the device reset; if it holds the fault is in the wiring, if not it is the device. The faulty leg is confirmed with a megohmmeter.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
If the building is dark, the record belongs to 186. If only the flat is dark, the fault is after the meter: one phase is missing or the neutral has broken. On neutral loss one phase climbs above 250 volts and another falls to 180.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
Inrush exceeds the existing circuit. The fix is not a bigger breaker but a dedicated run from the board with a motor characteristic device.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
The chandelier is fixed to the existing box and a load-rated hook. If the hook is not anchored in the slab, it is not hung. Live, neutral and earth are confirmed separately; the body is never put on phase.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and price
There is no protective earth and the neutral is bridged to the earth terminal in the socket. This is a lethal risk; stop using the appliance immediately.
Diagnosis sits in the 750–1,500 TL band. The job line is written from the 2026 table after measurement.
Fix and priceOn Gaziosmanpaşa call-outs the team follows the sequence below. No arrival minute is promised. The technician's name is given on the phone before anyone sets off.
The bands below are the labour ranges actually seen on recent call-outs and exclude materials. The binding figure is given in writing after on-site measurement, and no work starts without approval.

Prices are estimated labour ranges and exclude materials. A binding quote is issued in writing after the technician measures on site and before any work begins. Last updated: October 2026.
Whatever we are called out for, before leaving we measure your board at five points and leave the result in writing. It is the cheapest way to see a developing fault before it stops anything.
All breaker and terminal temperatures under load with a FLIR thermal imager; every point above seventy degrees is recorded.
The 30 mA residual current device trip time measured in milliseconds with a dedicated tester.
Voltage between neutral and earth; more than a few volts indicates a loose neutral or a bootleg ground.
Earth resistance read with a digital earth tester and assessed against the 2 Ohm target.
Breaker ratings against conductor size; anything above a C16 on a 1.5 mm² run leaves the cable unprotected.
Fully stocked mobile vans: every vehicle carries Schneider and Siemens breakers, 30 mA Type A devices, surge arresters, solid copper cable drums and junction box sets, so most jobs finish on the same visit.
Service covers the neighborhoods of Istanbul's 39 districts. Not the whole of Turkey. A survey is not a binding quote.
