The fixed run from the flat panel up to the roof is NYY, in conduit or in a roof-level duct that does not see the sun. NYM left in the open on the roof plane gives up its sheath in one summer, and salt walks from the crack in the sheath onto the core. H07RN-F is right for the short moving tail between the unit and the isolator; the whole riser is not made H07RN-F, because needless flexibility on a fixed run multiplies joints. NYA is not tied as a bare core to the railing iron. Railing iron is not an earth electrode. The unit body is bonded to the maker's earth terminal, with green-yellow, not by wrapping it onto the roof railing. Earth wrapped onto the railing breaks in salt and the body stays live.

The gasket in the isolator lid hardens in the sun, gaps at a corner, and salt enters there. Tape pulled over the gasket holds water for one winter, then tears and leaves the hole wider. The gasket changes. The lid screw is stainless; a zinc screw goes white in a season. The cable entry is a gland, at the bottom, aimed so a drip falls outside the isolator and not in. A lid drilled from the top takes rain in even with a new gasket. This job is not a socket fault inside the flat. If the residual-current device in the flat is tripping, the roof isolator is written separately and the device is not upsized for nothing because of the roof. If the roof leak is on the body, the device is doing the right work.

In Yalı the building earth electrode is buried on the garden side that faces the sea. Salty ground thins the steel tape over the years. If the rooftop unit body is bonded to this electrode, when the tape breaks the body stays live and the 30 mA in the flat trips correctly. Upsizing the device to stop the trip does not repair a broken electrode. The electrician looks for the electrode head, looks at the tape section, and if it is broken a new tape and a new rod are written. The rod is not welded to the railing iron. A weld lasts one season in salt and makes the measurement lie. The measurement is read between the rod head and the panel earth bar, with the unit not running. If the value is high, the work does not move on to the roof lug; the earth path is closed first. This measurement is not the joint measurement in the Orhantepe shaft.

The condensate pump in the ceiling either runs all the time or never runs when its float is dirty. A pump that runs all the time burns its small motor, water comes from the ceiling, and the flat's device trips. That trip can happen at the same time as the salt film on the roof, and if the two are closed as one fault the roof lug is changed for nothing. If the electrician finds a dirty float, he writes the dirt, not a new pump body. If the pump has burnt, it changes at the voltage on its label and the roof isolator is not touched. If the pump run is tied to the lighting fuse, it is split; a burnt pump also puts the living-room lamp out every time. In Yalı the top flat and the roof often belong to the same person, but the two places are two measurements. One is not handed over before the other is finished, and both are written.

In Yalı the flat's meter panel is at the entrance and the outdoor unit is on the roof. There are four or five floors between them. The section is chosen from the label current on the roof and from those floors, not copied from the next flat's cable at the entrance. If the voltage measured at the entrance is healthy and the roof is under 200 volts, the drop is in the run, not in the unit. The electrician writes both ends before blaming the unit. If both ends are low, the subject is the building riser and the distribution company, and the lug is not changed for nothing. If only the roof is low, the joints, especially the boxes on intermediate floors, are opened. If the joint inside a box is taped, it moves to a ceramic terminal. That box is not told as the aluminium-copper oxide in Fındıklı; what is looked for in Yalı is not salt, it is the resistance of a long run. Salt is in the isolator lid, resistance is between the floors.

In winter the north wind lifts the roof cladding and hits the isolator lid from the side. Even with a new gasket, if the hinge is bent the lid does not sit fully. The hinge is written, and the gasket is not ordered on its own. A bent hinge lets the salt back in after a season. The electrician does not straighten the hinge with pliers, because straightening cracks the sheet and opens a new hole. The hinge changes, or the whole isolator changes. The change is done with the unit stopped and the power confirmed off by measurement. On a windy day the lid is tied to the body so it does not fly from the hand, and it is not left to the street off the roof. The Yalı street is narrow, and a fallen lid lands on the awning of the floor below. That sentence goes into the survey note, because roof work is not only electrical, it is also a part that falls downward.
